I've tried every product known to man, including the old baking soda and vinegar trick. My back won't let me do serious scrubbing. Is there anything that will take off the scum without causing a trip to the chiropractor?

It's a very old tub. I've been trying to clean it for years, but it was nasty when we moved in, and I have never had much luck with it.

I KNOW, I KNOW! I wondered that myself when I had to clean an apartment I was moving out of. I searched the Internet and found one thing that worked wonderful....Its simple, its cheap, and it smells good too. Dryer sheets! I like bounce the best. You gently wet them (not too much) and wipe the tub. It comes right off and it has such a nice smell when your done!

There is a new product called "BAM" that is supposed to take off everything. I haven't got that much soap scum to remove, so I don't know if it works that great. If the tub is very porous, and there isn't much smooth surface try you may want to refinish it - look in the yellow pages for tub refinishers. Or better yet, get a new tub.

I recently bought an almost 60 year old house with the original fixtures, and lived with a horribly stained and soap-scummed tub for over 6 months. Then I used a coupon for the Magic Erasers (scotch-brite, I think). THEY WORK! I couldn't believe it! I had to use both in the package to get one tub/shower clean, but it took everything right off.
Best part - chemical free, so I didn't loose my eyebrows cleaning the tub.

windex! you might have to scrub a little if it's really set in however it if you continue to clean it with windex less scrubbing will be required in the future.
Here it the thing it's got to be windex the other products which clean glass just don't do the job. However it will be worth paying the windex price for the way your tub will come clean.

Comet always worked for me. And Black and Decker has a cordless scrubber for tubs--the Scumbuster.

Scrubbing bubbles. It sounds like you need to clean it more often.
