here is a current quote from a chicago newspaper about some of the 7,000 people bush has decided to let breeze into our country:

DE, (names removed by me) a recent immigrant from Iran, faces first-degree murder charges in connection with the killings. Chicago Police Commander TB says they're working with translators to find a motive. There are reports that E left a videotaped apology on the phone. He also reportedly says he felt "disrespected" by his female relatives. When police responded to the scene Sunday morning, they allegedly found E hitting himself in the head with the murder weapon, in an attempt to kill himself. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

They are. It's no doubt. I believe it has somthing to do with their religion. My neigbors are muslim and the husband was abusavie, she evetually just went to a police station and he is now under arrest. I think it's the fact that men are way above women in their religion and so when a married woman makes one single mistake, she must be punished. I do not agree with this at. Good question!

muslims are old-fashioned; meaning, a man is allowed to beat a woman as long as they are married and get away with it. but just because it is allowed doesn't mean it's right, and this is most definetely not right.

i've heard of a muslim girl who was raped and tried to fight back; she may be faced with the death sentence because she FOUGHT BACK a man that was trying to rape her. The man, however, was only sent to jail for a specific period of time. I believe this says something about the problems of that particular society. If the media hadnt caught up to that news, the girl would be facing the death sentence now.

I think it is because of the way society is shaped around those men. They are led to believe that they 'own' their wives, and that women are generally weaker and have less rights than them (the latter, of course, is true). It isn't right and should be talked about immediately.

But the way you've worded your question, i believe is a little racist. Men beat women everywhere in the world, but i agree that the most unfair results are displayed in the muslim culture. I have muslim friends that are nothing like that, so, well... yes, it's a bit racist.

I heard that story too ,on the news and i think that not all men from Iran are wife beaters ,that goes on any where in the world. In this case I believe that maybe he thought his wife disrespected him and where he comes from women don't normally do something she might have done to make him tick. So who knows.

Unfortunately your statement is racist .... men beat & kill their wives everywhere irregardless of religious creed. In my predominantly Christian country more than 75% of murder victims are women who are killed by their male spouse/boyfriend or ex.
