3.1 engine i have a hole in my air cleaner hose but it is taped up can this be the problem?

probably not it sounds like a bad plug or plug wire

Make sure your catalytic converter isn't plugged.
Check for a faulty coil pack or bad wires.
Check for vacuum leaks.

it could quite be a broken rubber vacuum hose, a undemanding reason of tough idling, and a few low speed overall performance. i could verify and hint each and every vacuum hose you will locate, all over the engine compartment...

I agree with Mark T-but you may have a more indepth tranny issue also.Have your trans service or checked by a competent shop(good luck there).

Could be a plug or wire or ecm or injector, etc
