I'm considering on buying the Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar guitar but I'm not too sure on weather or not this is a good guitar brand. I would consider myself a beginner guitarist but at the same time, I don't want to buy a piece of junk for a cheap price.

Is this a good choice for me or should I get something else? (if so name some brands)

-thanks

I'm pretty aware of guitar brands are good, I already have a Fender Strat.

My question is weather or not this is a good enough brand to spend money on.

I have a budget of 100-150. Most Fender, Gibson, and other better known guitar brands are over that price.

Since your budget is only $100-150 you can't expect to get anything except a beginners model.

Mitchell is made by either OZ Guitars in Indonesia or Feng Ling Music in China. They sell for about $39 at the wholesale level. Ultimately you are buying a junk guitar at the intended price.

Think about an acoustic with a solid top... go to a music shop and look at their used stuff.

I've played guitar for 30 yrs. and never heard of them. Some good beginner guitar names are Fender, Blue Ridge, Ibanez, Epiphone. If you want to get into high end guitars check out Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Henderson.

I would recommend Schecter, Gibson-Epiphone, or Alvarez. As a beginner I wouldnt recommend buying a crap guitar either!! Spend a lil money, its worth it, the playing experiences will be better and more fun with a more suitable guitar that feels good in your hands!!
