My laptop was working fine the other day. But now I boot it, it goes to the windows loading screen, a blue screen flashes, then it restarts itself. I can't get into the login screen or anything to try and fix it from the inside. So can anyone help me? I'm hoping I can fix it myself, I don't want to tell my parents it's broken already when I've only had it since Christmas.

Well.....go to setup options(watch when your laptop boots. It will say how) and try loading in safe mode. That should get you to log in and the path to fixing.

Sounds as if you loaded some software that disagrees with Windows. Or there were some improper shutdowns. Hopefully the Safe Mode will work. Some systems are set to Restart automatically when they get a system startup error (right click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery settings.) You'll probably see a check mark by Automatically Restart. I like this turned off so I can at least see the error message on the blue screen. I then have a chance to search for a fix on the internet -from another computer of course.

You need to figure out what the BLUE SCREEN is telling you. Generally if a computer fails for some reason, Windows will display a blue screen that will give an indication of why the computer produced the error. You might also want to think about trying to boot into safemode, log in and check the event log and read what errors are being produced.

You can boot into safemode by typing F8 right before you see the Windows loading screen pop up.

A good first step is to figure out if it is Windows or hardware.
Do this by pressing F8 (function key at top of keyboard) repeatedly while it is trying to boot. This should give you the option of booting into safe mode. Select that option. If you can boot into safe mode then Windows is ok but needs some more diagnosing. If it will not boot into safe mode, you may have a hard drive problem. This will need to be fixed by a techie.

At the black boot up screen, press the DELETE button.
This will start the BIOS page.
Using the arrow keys, look for Load defaults, and click it, save and exit.
If that did not work, start you computer again and press F8
And choose, Load last good known.
If THAT does not work, your copy of windows is corrupt, and you will have to reinstall it.

Try to load up in safe mode (start tapping F8 key as soon as it begins to boot) and do a system restore (Start-progs-acces-sys tools-sys restore) to about a week or longer prior to having your issue... best of luck...
ps you can always pull out the quick restore or disaster recovery (depends on mfg of comp is) disks and just reinstall.

you can try booting up in safe mode just push F2 or F4 or whatever it is right when you turn on your comp and see if that helps but if it doesnt you can try and reinstall your windows with the disk that should have came with it and if all else fails you can always just go get a new one cause its still under warranty
