I was married in June of 2006, as of Feb 20 th 07 we still have not received our wedding video. We paid up front 2k. Every time we contact him he says he is "backed up" or " a couple more weeks" He did not even respond to our last phone message. Contract does not specify date of completion, but does state we can purchase master video after 6 months. I think This would imply that video would have been done at 6 months. Are we screwed because contract does not specify date? Do i have a case to threaten him with small claims court? Even though no date is specified, would the courts hold him accountable? What is to keep him from taking 2 years!

Try one more time in a nice manner.... in your message, or in your conversation with him... imply that you may be forced to take him to court because you have not received the product in which you purchased. Ask just what he would do in your shoes, or ask what he would think if it were him. Tell him you will give him 24 hrs to produce your film... if not you will be forced to take action. See what happens, it may just end up in your hands which will save you a hassle of taking him to small claims court. Good luck to you.

On behalf of making wedding videos. The very specifics of the
case are not strong for the type of polish nowadays they offer.
If you want zero lighting, cropping and buffing then demand a
half finished piece of art. Sorry , I have 3 workers and we get
this all the time. Funny part is I have a studio assessed at
16 million dollars, just for making video sacrament service. The
people matter to me, I hired people that had no help, no data,
no sponsor and believe me I have published over 2000 videos
at 23. They include 6 pulitzer, 4 nobel, and 16 hollywood trophy. You must do a good amount of study to get a nice film.
My time would be 35 hours, though sitting still and does not
count meetings, viewings and making final product. Say another 20 hours of meetings. So to you that is one week. I have two studios, three people, this is common, we share this brand new field. Very likely you could get a worker to help in film repair.

Yes you do. Don't put it of any longer. You have been scammed. Also notify the Better Business Bureau. Sometime the television news will check on scams like this. Good luck.

You have a case. He is in violation of the contract. It's very clear cut from what you put here.

I would and highly recommend Judge Judy on TV! E-mail her with the story and see what happens

I think you do. If he will not be accountable you need to take action. I hope you get what you want.
