any info on "bat flower"-Tacco chantrieri?

Question

in live in SW Mich., i would like to know if this plant can be wintered over in house at all. perhaps stored like glads or potted?
is it poisonous to cats?

Tacca chantrieri (Bat Flower, Bat Head Lily, Black Tacca, Cats Whiskers, Devil Flower): It is a tropical plant (zone 11) so you would have to keep it in a greenhouse or in your house over winter. There is nothing about it that would harm your cat. That is unless he scares easily, it's a pretty sinister looking plant. There are several sites on line that sell the flower or even the seeds.
