What if you compromise with Clifton Michael?

What about going with one of each of the names you both like, that way you both get a name you like. Some have even gone with 4 names and then the last name.

Dayan Scott
Dayan Clifford/Cliffton

Scott Dayan
Scott Michael

Micheal Clifford/Clifton
Michael Scott

Clifford/Clifton Michael
Clifford/Clifton Dayan

I know a few people named Clifford and they don't really get teased. If they get called anything, it's 'Cliff'.

Maybe you could compromise:

Dayan Scott
Michael scott

Dayan Clifford
Michael Clifford

Dayan Clifton
Michael Clifton

Clifford Dayan
Clifford Michael

Clifton Dayan
Clifton Michael

I like Dayan Clifton

I know a Deian (pron Dayan, it's Welsh), and my brothers middle name is Clifton (but only because it was a family surname and there were no boys left to carry that on.

What about Dayan Clifton? Clifton is a posh area in Bristol, by the way.

Or even Dayan Clifton Michael or Michael Dayan Clifton, so he has a "normal" name to use if he wants to?

You could even put Scott in there too! There is no limit to the amount of names you can give your child, so go for a combination of all four, two unusual and two less unusual names :)

Clifford... like the dog... sorry but people don't name their kids Dora for the same reason, not because it's not a good name, but because of the "tease" factor.
One GREAT website I found for baby names was www.thinkbabynames.com you type in a name you like, such as clifford, but it will give you it's rating, what it's meaning is, and what are some other options that are similar to it. You can even search by meaning, or by similar meanings i.e. you type in "strong" and they say do you want strong or these synonyms for strong... they also have a list of the top 1000 names in the US from Social Security, not only for this past year but since 1900... maybe if you say to your hubby, Clifford was popular in 1917 not 2007...or whatever

Naming your child is important, not only are you going to scream it outside your door when you want them to come in from playing, but you want to be able to get their attention in the store when you want them to behave, but you also want them to be respected as an adult someday and have a good resume name. Good Luck with your name search, Dayan is cute, ultimatly you'll find a name that you both like, and comprimise...otherwise you'll never hear the end of it!!

I don't blame you about the name Clifford. It reminds me of "Clifford the big red dog" cartoon, and that's what kids would call him...
"Clifford the big red dog"
Maybe a compromise might be Calvin, Cavan, Cameron, Cevin, Charlton. Corrigan

then perhaps have Scott Micheal or Michel Scott as a double middle name.

For example, Cavan Micheal Scott _______.
I think it sounds good!
I hope you get it all worked out.

I really like Dayan Micheal. But Clifford????Ummmmm...like the dog?Maybe you could name him Dayan Clifford, although that sounds awkward...maybe you could search baby name books together and pick out a name together? Is he dead set on Clifford? If he is, there may be no changing his mind. Good luck.

properly, my grandfathers call replaced into Santos and absolutely everyone observed as him Sunny. (My mom's relatives is hispanic, so i'm in simple terms like, a million/4, yet i needed a hispanic call for my son.) My grandparents named my Uncles Matthew (which I chosen for my son), Mark, Keith, and William. no longer completely hispanic, yet you need to get those names or the different english names translated into spanish and flow that direction. And in case you ever take place to desire a woman call, my mom's call replaced into Sondra.
