and the doctor said she needed some fresh mountain air. Do you think it would help if I went over and fanned her with a picture of the alps?

stick her in the car with her head out the window and drive 90mph down the highway--that'll give her some fresh air. All the snow-plowed snow mounds are close enough to mountains...
