Hi, Well i am interested in becoming an actress. It has been something I have wanted to do for a long, long time. I have this one major problem though. The problem is how do i get started?
I need to know what to do in order to persue my career. I need steps of what to do in order to become an actress, the basic things to be aware of, how to contact talents agents(good agencies), how to build up my resume'. As you can see I need to know everything. I know you might not be able to answer all of my questions but any advice or anything will help.

First start gaining experience for yourself.
Audition for anything local... like a community theater
and just build it from there.

Are you going to school? If you are, try taking a Theater Arts class. If you're not going to school then enroll in a community college and take a theater arts class. You'll want to take not only acting classes but of course theater history and art appreciation classes as well. You can also "get your foot in the door" so to speak with going to any open casting calls in your city. I know that sometimes where I live they announce open casting calls as extras in a movie or something, and most actors started out with very small parts. If you're really serious about being an actor, you may want to consider moving to California or New York. Some actors get discovered believe or not while they were just working as a waiter or waitress in Hollywood. You will have to start small, but the more research you do, the more information you'll obtain. And knowlegde is power. Good luck~

Muffin, I'm actually going to suggest that you do a little searching through yahoo! answers. You have asked a lot of good questions here. Many of them have already been answered in greater detail than we can possibly rewrite here.
If you will look at the top of your screen, you'll see a featured called "search for questions." Try the following keyword searches:

-acting college OR university?

If you have never studied acting, enroll in an acting class/school. Call the Community Theatre in the city where you live and ask if the teach acting, or, can recommend a school. If your school has a drama department, join it.
