Island is to Sea as _____________ is to land

Bolster is to bed?
Some types of torches need batteries. Some beds use bolsters to prop up the pillows.

Lake is to land.
An island is surrounded by water; a lake is surrounded by land.

"Island is to sea like lake is to land" is probably the second one, for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure about the second one, but batteries are a long cylindrical section that fits inside a torch, and as bolsters are also long and cylindrical it could be
"Batter is to torch as bolster is to pillowcase"

My best guess to number 1 is:

battery (supports/powers/fills a) torch like bolster ((long pillow) props/raises/supports) is to setup/setting/arrangement/plan/strategy.

Number 2 is lake as others told you.
