i did call the dr. a week ago for advice about the diahrea and am waiting for a phone call from them tonight about the throwing up. i just wanted more opinions since the last time i dealt with a throwing up baby was 5 years ago when my oldest was young.

She is probably keeping more down than it appears, but the most important thing is to keep her hydrated. Pedialyte is good, so is flat Coca Cola (it has to be regular Coke - there is something about the Coke syrup that seems to settle tummies). You can also dissolve a little gelatin (try a light-colored Jello like peach or white grape) into water and try that.

Once she is keeping liquids down, you can try introducing small amounts of the "BRAT" diet: Banana, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. All of these things are very easy to digest.

Keep checking the soft spot on her head. If it starts to look sunken in at all, take her to the hospital or your doctor - it could be a sign of dehydration. And finally, if she is still doing this 24 hours from now, take her in, anyway. Most stomach bugs come and go relatively quickly (compared to, say, a cold) so if it lingers, it could be a sign of something more serious.

And finally, if you are nervous and it would make you feel better, take her to the doctor tonight, right now. The price of a doctor's visit is small compared to the peace of mind it may give you.

Hope this helps - good luck!!

Baby's spew for lots of reasons.... a bagel? was it fresh? Try feeding her some baby food after her stomach has time to settle.... it could just be collic. Try burping her for a while. Don't panic, she can go a little while without food, just be sure and keep her hydrated.
