Should corporal punishment be reinstated in public schools?

The problem isn't with a lack of discipline in school, it begins with the lack of discipline at home. If kids aren't disciplined at home, why would a spanking at school teach them to behave.

Parents need to take an active role in their child's life. If they did there would be no need for corporal punishment in schools.

BTW: there are many states that still allow corporal punishment in schools.

Yes, very carefully supervised, of course. Every student in the school finds out quickly when the strap is given. To my mind, a strap is in place mostly for the non-use, and is brought out in serious situations. It should be administered by the principal or vice-principal, and observed by a randomly selected member of the teaching staff. In most schools, that would happen once or twice a year, and behaviour would definitely be better when students know there are consequences to actions.

Nope...physical violence doesn't cure anything. It only makes for more physical violence. What is needed is for education to start serving the needs of the students, not serving the needs of rules and law. Most students want to learn. There are some real bad apples. Revise the laws to allow them to be sent away if they have no interest in school.

nicely, corporal punishment remains used in some u . s . faculties. in my opinion i trust college officials haven't any proper to position a hand on peoples toddlers. So no, I dont imagine it is going to probable be reinstalled.

NO,THEY ALREADY TRY TO POLICE THE KIDS ENOUGH..MAYBE THEY SHOULD WORRY ABOUT TEACHING KIDS INSTEAD OF DISCIPLINE..ESPECIALLY WHEN MOST KIDS GET NEGLECTED ANYWAYS...JUST THINK IF THEY GOT NEGLECTED AND BEAT...DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD LISTEN, OR BE MORE DEFIENT?
