Time the pains. Are they coming regularly? If they are, then more than likely you're in labor. If not, just give it some more time.

Yes it can be. You need to keep a time sheet on the contractions, that is one thing they will ask at the hospital. The pains should get on a regular time. Also you may notice a smear of blood when you wipe. Another thing is when your water breaks it could just feel like you are peeing and can't stop it. Keep in a pad to take with you to the hospital ( they will check it to see if it is your water or just urine). Don't wait to long to get to a hospital maybe around 10-5 min apart if you are not to far from the hospital. Good luck and God bless.

it could be, but you need to time them. If they are happening every 5 minutes you need to call your dr. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago and i went to the drs and he told me i was having really strong braxton hicks contractions. He told me if they continued to drink a bottle of water and rest because sometimes dehydration can cause contractions. So if you drink a lot of fluids and the pains are not going away i would maybe call your dr. The thing is it doesnt sound like they are getting stronger and more unbearable throughout the day, which kind of sounds like braxton hicks. Either way all you can do is continue monitoring and call your dr for some direction. Good luck.

if you can't get any sleep tonight, call your ob in the morning. let them know that you've been having the period type cramps and aches.
in the mean time, start hiking up and down the stairs and what not to help you along.
make sure your bags are packed and get ready if you've not done that.
more than likely it's just early labor, which can last for what seems like a lifetime...or it can be quick.
every labor and delivery is different.
good luck! and congrats!

I had similar pains 2 weeks before giving birth. They lasted for 12 hours and then stopped. If they continue to get closer together and alot stronger then it is possible that baby is on his way! My mucous plug never came out until 8 hours before he was born. (I had a long labour) Take care and all the best xx

Yes, it could be early signs of labor. Keep walking and timing those contractions. When they get to the point where you can time the duration of them and they are so many minutes apart (usually about 5), then you will be certain.

The diarrhea could be causing the cramps, as well as anxiety. You may be in the onset of labor, just be cautious. Best of luck to you.

Some people don't lose their mucous plug until they're delivering. It sounds to me like you're in early labor. Call your Dr. to see what he/she says. Good Luck! and Congrats!
