As a fan of Keith Urban and Brad Paisley, I can only speak for them, but if you pick up one of their albums, the majority of the tracks on that CD are solely written or co-written by them. Both are extremely talented songwriters, but they're also not too proud to cut a track written by someone else.
Just as an example, On Keith Urban's latest CD "Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing" he wrote or co-wrote 10 out of the 13 songs on the album. On Brad Paisley's "Time Well Wasted" 9 out of 16 were written or co-written by him.
Just a note though, someone mentioned that Keith wrote "Stupid Boy", which is not true. It was written by Sarah Buxton, Deanna Bryant, Dave Berg.

I do. I am always inspired to write and I love to do it. I started writing songs when I was 16. I doubt a lot of these newer singers write most of their own stuff but a lot still do. Those are the best songs when the one who performs it also wrote it. Comes from the heart.

I don't know about those singers but I heard that some artists actually take other singers music that wasn't finished or couldn't be done cause it's not their style of music to do. maybe this answer isn't what ya looked for but i know this is true.

i would say some of them because some stars need help wityh creating a good song. Beyonce would be a co writer but not the full writer i dint know aboyut the other celebs. They are all probably about the same.

Most don't but demand credit if they write a word, or they won't use the song. Beyonce, Celine Dion, Spears, most pop stars have a crew of writers.....

All of them usually ''remake songs'' or make up their own.
They usually remake songs because they can't think of one or they don't have a good imgination like George Lucas who created Star Wars. So there. Does that help??
