Tell him. And have him interact with it in a good way.

Do you live together? If so, he has the right to know an animal is going to be in his home. But tell him guess what pal, you want to be a part of this family, you learn to love that puppy. Anyone who came between my daughter and her puppy would get herself a kick out the door so fast. Dogs know a good person from a bad one. What does the puppy think of him?

That depends on how he is. Only you can answer that, really. I would definately tell him in advance, if it were me, especially if he's a piss and moan for days at a time kinda guy.

Why doesn't he like animals? Is he allergic? If that's the case, i would see if your daughter could leave the puppy.

Otherwise, it's your daughter - just tell him like it is. He'll get over it.

Good Luck!

give him a heads up in advance. that way by the time the puppy gets there he'll have cooled down. and remind him- its just for the weekend :)

Is your daughter going to be there with you? If so, it might be better to get it over with now, rather than see her brokenhearted over his reaction this weekend. He should be willing to make exceptions sometimes though, she is your daughter, and this is part of your life.

You should talk to him before. You should also say that your pet is a family member and you can't let it out of your family 's activities. Talk to him generally.
