Unfortunately, horse's carry a lot of weight on four relatively thin legs and small feet. It only takes one funny step for them to pull a muscle. The good news is, most horses have the sense and self-preservation not to do anything that could end up in a serious injury. Most tendon injuries I've seen have resulted from a rider pushing the horse to do something it wouldn't do on its own: taking a jump on wet ground, for instance. That being said, I've also seen horses at liberty over-exert themselves or stumble on pocked or poorly maintained footing. Horses with shoes that are turned out in ice are particularly vulnerable to nasty falls. They don't know they're shoes limit their traction (unless they have studs on the shoes) and they can strain something just by slipping on the slick footing. Your horse probably wouldn't pull a tendon just by tripping, but then again, sometimes it's the little things that have serious consequences. If he's favoring the leg badly (not putting any weight on it, holding it in the air) call the vet out to double check. He might have just twisted it wrong and it's a little sore, but you don't want to take chances with the tendons, and the sooner you have a diagnosis, the better.

unfavorable guy you cant do lots for a pulled tendon it in basic terms takes time to heel yet there is stuff you're able to do to assist. bute is solid for swelling yet you dont desire to offer it every day by using fact it may reason kidney failure. iing it putting warmth packs on it incredibly is god to assist cut back swelling. swelling make it longer to heel so the extra you may get it down the extra advantageous. wrapping the leg is super extra advantageous in case you do it on all 4 that way he cant desire one from the different and make yet another leg sore in case you cant then do exactly the two front or decrease back anyplace they harm if to assist. he incredibly needs stall relax and in case you walk him under no circumstances extra then 10 minutes under no circumstances enable him run he will in basic terms harm it extra. counting on how undesirable it incredibly is it generally take everywhere from 6 months to a 300 and sixty 5 days to heal after which you're able to get then in to artwork very gently until eventually finally he gets toned up so on and that they are in a position to finally get decrease back to working generally counting on what he does. yet its a robust theory for a vet to come lower back see him, some vets desire to take an extremely sound of it to work out the place its precisely torn and how yet whether they discover it it is not proper you nonetheless gotta look ahead to it to heel. that got here approximately to my mare my vet stated its no longer properly well worth the money

Bucking and playing in the pasture, kicking in the stall, rolling and getting up wrong, slipping and falling on muddy surfaces, running in deep mud, etc.

horses legs are delicate and there are tons of tendons and ligments. All it would take to damage something is a small trip or misstep.
