The attached news bit is an example of Bush using fear to get us to support his attacks and war posture in general...he has not ever protected us from terrorism at home...the statistics show that the Justice dept. is calling all sorts of things terrorism...Our government just wants us to be afraid so they can use force around the world...there is a lot of insanity in power in our own country these days...that's the scariest thing

If the terrorist threat is indeed as bad as they tell us, why are our borders wide open? Why aren't containers shipped in screened yet? Why had NORAD been moved from the Cheyenne Mountain compound(the general in charge said we no longer "need" it since we don't face the same dangers)?

Your question. Democrats in the House have passed a bill to institute the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission-seems that should have been done a long time ago. It still needs to pass the Senate and be signed...I also agree-Afghanistan was a correct response to 9/11. We should have captured or killed Bin Laden. Saddam was the the 5th worst-not the first-dictator in the world. It's one thing to help rebels depose a dictator-completely different to do it for them. What a mess-and the administration knew it would be a mess.

I would have wiped the Taliban out as much as humanly possible. Karzai would have all the US money and support he needs and the creation of a democracy in Afghanistan would hopefully be a reality.

Iraq would still be ruled by the Hussein nutjob, but my only interest in Iraq would be to keep a stable Sunni nation on the border of Iran.

And hopefully 3000 American men and women would still be serving their nation.

Thanks for asking.

They would have surrendered, no doubt about it.
