If it's a good friend, they can't stay too long and I just enjoy and adapt. If it's someone else, I have no problem saying I have a prior commitment and they will have to go.

I have a schnauzerdog II guest removal system. He looks them in the eyes and growls until they leave. I've seen him do it for almost 3 hours straight, and I'm sure he could keep it up for as long as necessary.

The schnauzerdog 1 model that I used to have was equally effective at removing company by pretending to be their friend, then when they weren't looking he would madly hump whatever extremity he could get a good hold of.

Only have one guy that drops in to watch TV and that's usually invited. He has over stayed a couple times and I just told him I had to be alone and hope he had a good evening.

I just tell them I'm sorry but I can't stay and chat, because I have to be somewhere, and I appriciate you coming over and that but next time you really should call . and say bye. as you are walking them to the door.

i just start babbling about how busy i am, how busy my life is, the million and one things i need to do today - and i'm only up to ten, just start waffling on about this that and something else, and keep doing stuff while they're there... they eventually get the hint and say "i'll let you get back to it.." its worked a few times!
