Okay, I'm leaving the west coast for Boston for a week, and I haven't flown since 2002. Is there anything specific that I should know? Really I'd love to know how much that you can carry-on with you. It's been so long, and I want to pack right. When I'm in Boston is there something that is really awsome that I should see? I'll be by myself for a few days and then with a friend for 2, and need to know what to see!

Oh...regarding the plane trip....do they still serve snacks on the planes? And what about alchohol? Might need that! :)

First responder is correct. As for things to see, consider visiting Old North Church, Faneuil Hall, Boston Common and Garden, USS Constitution, MIT, and Harvard. You can get most places on the MTA (it serves the airport); you could also rent a car, but parking is impossible so don't get a car unless you must. If you are there during baseball season, you could take in a game at Fenway Park.

You'd have to check with the specific airline, but generally, you can take a small carry on (again, check their website or the local airport website for exact measurements) as well as two other pieces of luggage. They won't include if you also have like a purse, or something as part of your carry on. Make sure to follow guide lines as to what you can't have, etc. As far as snacks, not as many airlines offer them as before. But, some still do. When you're booking your flight it should say, either that or just a quick email to the FAQ of your airline should answer that for you. Some airlines only serve alcohol in first class, others anywhere. However, it will always be pretty pricey!

Once you get to Boston, make sure to pack some warm clothes, and good walking shoes. The city is best seen on foot, and you'll catch all the great historical sites!

Enjoy!

I *think* you can take 2 full sized bags, a carry-on and a bag pack/purse. I'll be kinda cold and windy, so take good warm clothes. Boston has a lot of historical sights to visit. Most flights don't serve snacks. Alcohol is available, but you'll have to pay $5 for a beer or a nip.
