you could competently flow away it on each and all of the time. Geeks (like me) debate whether it rather is extra ideal to flow away instruments like that on or off, you could take the persevering with debate as an illustration that neither approach is obviously better. the quantity of means used with the aid of the modem is negligible. you will use extra means leaving the pc on for an extra 30 seconds on a similar time as the modem boots than your modem will use all night.

No. The modem draws very little power, and I leave it (and the router to which it is connected) on all the time. It is not necessary to power either of them down to re-boot unless a power failure causes them to restart badly, which occasionally happens. (It's a cable modem.)

router ?? or modem?
for router - disconnect power supply / cord from router - leave off for 1 to 3 minutes - then reconnect
for modem :
- disconnect the power cord from the router and/or the modem (which ever is giving the problem)
- then disconnect the cable from the modem
leave them off for 1 to 3 minutes
- then reconnect
I always shut my router and modem off whenever I shut my computer off
leaving your modem on - allows hackers to get into your computer

I put my computer into "sleep" mode but never turn off my dsl modem. (I was advised to not to turn it off.) Have never had a problem doing it this way. If I had wireless internet I probably would rethink this situation.

I think you're talking about a router not a modem. I was told you can turn off both if you want.

Sometimes your ISP changes IP of your computer and it needs to renew. I don't imagine what you do to recover your connection but basically that's what happens. Your modem is safer as you do, It'll have a longer life.

I leave mine on all the time. I only experience issues once in maybe 9 months.
