I went into Argos to take advantage of the promotion they were doing in which if you spend £50 you get a five pound voucher and if you spend a hundred you get a ten pound voucher. I was £1, well a little less short for to make the £50. I was told to go get another item to receive the voucher by carrying the amount to 50 or more. I had other things to do and their service was very demeaning. It really pushed me over the edge when the cashier just stared me down. I asked why they don't round to the nearest pound but got the remark that its only 1 more pound to spend calling me a penny pincher. Seemed really stingy in my opinion, and made me nauseous to argue, so I just left mumbling, what penny pinchers in my head. Very bad experience.

I second the Circuit City.
I went to one in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. I knew they had the product in stock because I had looked it up online. When I came in they said the didn't have any but "I could look over there and pointed."
Every salesperson in the place was standing around talking while no customers were being helped.
Then when I went to checkout all four of the sales people behind the counter didn't have time to help me because they were too buy commenting on their high school yearbooks.
I've never bought anything from them again. Best Buy has great customer service.

3 - I agree. But I'll be a little more open ended and say the oil companies in general. Crooks and just plain mean.
2. - Auto Insurance Brokers. I pay over three grand a year on car insurance. If anything happens to my car, I'll get five hundred dollars and a kick in the ***.
And number one is...
The Bush administration. Think about it. Is there any larger "customer service" that has screwed up this big ever in history?

Studio. in Preston Lancashire. They never answer your letters or e-mails,when you make a complaint or have a query. If you don`t pay your account on time they add £21. every month to your account. When you refuse to pay the £21. ( but have paid your account in full) they add another £.21 every month. Do not ever buy from this company. They send threatening letters every month, even when you owe them nothing. As I said they never answer your letters etc. so how can you deal with them, except through the expense of a solicitor?

My vote goes to Morrison's supermarket at the moment, passing our local one last week our young nephew asked for a drink and some biscuits, I couldn't see the biscuits I wanted on the shelf so asked an assistant, you'd have thought I'd asked him to do my weeks shopping for me as well as pay for it out of his own pocket, with hands in pockets and a sulk on his face he looked up and down the aisle and said we have none and walked away, I did finally find them and took them to the till, the girl picked them up and just basically flung them down towards the carrier bags, I was so angry I asked her if she liked broken biscuits, her reply was no why, I threw the biscuits back at her and said funnily enough neither do I but these are now so thanks but no thanks, Jesus the attitude and customer service leaves a lot to desire in that place and I for one won't be going back there again.

greyhound buses! They are horrible. My grandmother used to ride them to visit us. She really liked taking the road trip but the people were so nasty and rude to her (and us when we'd come to pick her up). She is a senior citizen and they were still rude. I finally told her she had to fly because I didn't want her putting up with their attitudes. Never on time, disregard for all the passengers. I know it is not "first class" travel but everyone deserves to be respected and treated kindly.
She has flown for years now. So I vote for Greyhound ("leave the traveling to us...NOT!)

i phoned the hospital when i was pregnant, i still had 2 weeks to go, told them i had bad backache and was getting pains every 10 mins, i went in to be examined, sent me home saying take paracetemol (usual cure for aches and pains?)
20 hours late at home on the loo, i gave birth, phoned the ambulance, 1 hour later it arrived, the hospital staff couldnt believe it, they put me in a hot stuffy room with no light, heating on full, no fan, no kettle, tv, phone or anything.
