Yes and no. Learning starts at home, so it depends on parents. Learning happens in the community, so it depends on where they live. Learning happens in school, so it depends on how the parents and community support the school. All of these elements are needed for good education.

My mother is a teacher and I think that our children are learning
but in different ways than they used too. She told me today that the louder the classroom the more learning is going on because it is funner. But I still don't like Bush. That bastard.

If they're in Public Schools, definitely no. If they're in Private Schools, maybe (depends on the type of school; religious schools tend to do poorly, but some private schools do very well). If they're home schooled, yes.

The public school system's main purpose is to create little Liberals and Neo-Cons to keep big government around.
