A natural sponge will hold more because a natural sponge comes from the ocean.

it depends on the type of natural and artificial sponges. Some natural sponges are very dense and some artifical ones are made with hyperabsorptive materials.

Each individual sponge type has a different volume of water they will hold.

a microfiber artificial sponge is probably the most absorptive.

It depends on the composistion of each sponge. Do an experiment. .

- weigh each sponge
- submerge each in water
- squeeze the water out of each and weigh
- weigh the sponges again. take the difference in weights
between dry and wet sponge and add that to the weight of thw water.
- take weight of water and divide by the weight of the dry sponge.
- whichever number is bigger is the sponge that holds the most water

Natural sponges have large holes, which quickly drain, so it's artificial, for sure.
