Ok so "emo" can mean so many different things to different people. Emo can be a style of music while it can also refer to someones lifestyle. Obviously, its short for emotional so anyone who displays emotion is emo? That is just ridiculous. Honestly, I think its on of the most overused and wrongly used words that people say today. Then theres the "emo" look. Oh because someone has there hair over their eye they suddenly become emo without another glance. And why does emo have a negative feeling to it? I dont understand this myself because personally, there are plenty of good emo bands out there and if you must "emo" people. So people who call "emo"s gay or cutters and give **** to them youve got to stfu.

if you're talking about people, emo is a sterotype and everyone is going to tell you something different and no matter what it's going to be negative because . . . it's a sterotype.
if you're talking about music though, which i'm asuming you are since this is in the music section, i don't think music should be categorized either because then people start narrowing down what they listen to to fit in with what everyone else likes too or what they think they should listen to instead of opening their horizons to anything they might come across that they could like.
but that's just my opinion -- take it or leave it.
