I normally don't read much but I need something to fill in my afternoons in between classes. I'm not interested in mystery or sci fi. I'm looking for classic romance and it's has to be funny. (By classic romance I mean courtship, not like the lustfulness of Harlequinn) I don't mind diary books. I don't like dry books, it's gotta be something interesting. I can not stand Steven King or Tom Clancey and PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST HARRY POTTER...Those are lame too. Any good suggestions?

The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing.
I reread it about once a year, and have done so for about 5 years now. It is excellent!

Unfortunately, most of the new "romantic" novels are quite lustful and sexy. You may have to seek out the old Mills and Boones from a used books store.
On the other hand, the biography or autobiography of some people makes interesting reading. Try it.

I deeply suggest The Laird of Stonehaven by Connie Mason. Yes, it is Harlequin and yes, it is lustful, but certain scenes are hilarious, and it's very suspenseful. Connie Mason knows how to enthrall her readers. It's very interesting when it talks about clans and life in the olden days. They use old english language like "ye" or "thy" but you learn those really fast as you move through the story. This book will keep you from being bored while you wait for your next class.

What I reccomend most is anything and everything by Lynn Kurland. She right smore on historical romance based upon the middle ages and whatnot, but it was very entertaining to say the least. The one I started with was Dreams of Stardust, but really you can start anywhere among her novels. There's no direct "series" but her books carry on through the family tree and whatnot.
Good luck!

I recommend "Anne of Green Gables".
It's not "funny" though, so check the book jacket for a description and read a random paragraph or two in the book to see if you gould get into it.

james patterson! i actually haven't read any of his mysteries but the "maximum ride" books are fast paced, full of thrills and humor, and easy to read and "the lake house" is very similar although not much romance at all
as for classic romance, i suggest philippa gregory:
"the favored child"
"widecre"
"meridon"

How about 'The Notebook' by Nicholas Sparks?
It's a love story, not a lust story.
