Tubal ligation. It depends on what type is done to determine if it is reversible. If the woman has her tubes cut or burned, no, it is not reversible. However, if the woman has her tubes tied, then yes, it is reversible, but costs more money to have them "untied". Also, some women have hysterectomies, which is where they take out most of the insides of a woman, and in this case it is not reversible.
Hope this answers your question.

I'm a nurse. Yes it's called a tubal. However this procedure is major surgery. Where for the man you are in and out of the office in less than 30 minutes. A women has a longer recovery period too. Both are forever if that's truly what you want. I hope this is useful information, take care. Oh with the surgery the tubes are burned and clips (four) on each side to prevent pregnancy.

Yes, there is a procedure called tubal ligation. The tubes that carry eggs into the ovaries are tied off and cannot carry eggs anymore.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that for a guy a vasectomy is done in the Dr's office with a local anesthetic, a couple shots, a couple cuts and a couple stitches and its done and he can have sex the next day.
With a woman its called a tubal ligation and its a whole surgical procedure, with a lot longer recovery

its called a tubal ligation or a hysterectomy. A tubal ligation or "getting your tubes tied" is self explanatory and a hysterectomy is where they actually remove things...sometimes they dont remove everything though and it is not reversible, just like a vasectomy. Hysterectomy's are only done in cases of medical necessity...like in some cases of endometriosis.

Theres tubal ligation. Its where they clamp and/or cut your fallopian tubes. Keeps the egg and the sperm apart. Nowhere near as hard on the body as actually taking your ovaries. Unless you have cancer on them, your doctor normally wouldn't do that anyways.
Where I'm from they won't do it unless you meet a whole whack of criteria. So talk to your doctor about it.
