FRIENDLIEST is: TEXAS!!!! Some wonderful folks live there!

STILL FRIENDLY: Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia (outside Atlanta,) Tennessee, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and South Carolina, in my experiences. Some parts of Utah, Oregon, and Kansas aren't too bad.

LEAST FRIENDLY: Well, several states could vie for this title. Any state east of the Mississippi and north of the Ohio (upper midwest/northeast.) Also, Kentucky and Florida are contenders.

To tell the truth I believe that in Utah if you are not a Mormon that people are not at all friendly. In this state you cannot get anywhere unless you are associated in some way with the church. A bishop came by our house then said that he was going to give my brother a blessing (he has cancer) at another time but then never showed up again because everyone who was a Mormon had moved out of the house. We are shunned because we are not Mormon. I have lived in Texas and was not accepted there because where I lived it was 99% Hispanic and I was hated. But at least the priests did not shun me because I was not their religion.

The friendliest state that I have lived in would have to be Michigan. I was not treated badly for being white or for not having the same religion as someone or for having friends who were not white.

I agree with Texas being a friendly state. Especially when it comes to driving. There is no other state I have lived in/drove through that understood the following concepts:

Wave when someone lets you cut in.
Flash your hazard lights when someone drives on the shoulder on a highway to let you pass.
It's not necessary to drive bumper to bumper so that no other person has a chance of switching lanes.

I miss Texas and suprised my car isn't totalled from driving around in states like Illinois.
