Minor in consumption law...what happens now?

Last week I was arrested by a police officer who believed I was drunk driving. I'm 18 years old. (side note: he never read me my rights when he arrested me). I was taken to the jail and tested to be below the legal limit for my age, and therefore not drunk driving, but was issued a minor in consumption ticket.

I was booked, but I can't remember if I was given a sheet saying I needed to go into court or not. Some people I've asked said they will just mail me a fine, but others have said that I have to go into court.

I'm in Idaho; what's the law here say about this?

they should have told you the court date or timeline within to pay the fine, that is if you bonded out, if you just served your time till being released, which would take about 7 days where i live than you dont have to pay anything,,, and by the way it dont really matter that they didnt read you your rights, ive been arrested 7 or 8 times and never once been read my rights, but according to the mirranda law all charges are suppose to be dropped for that, but its your word against theirs

If you were drunk , how do you know if the officer read you your rights or not. Some states like Idaho have provided a law to protect minors from get a D.U.I. on their records. I think this law stinks. If you are driving drunk I do not care if you are 18 or 88 you should be charged with D.U.I./ They will probably send you a ticket & give you 10 days to pay it , if not paid on time a bench warrrent will be issued for you. The fine will be increased for the warrent.

Go to the county circuit clerks office and look up your file. It is a public file so it is easily accessed. AS for him not reading you your rights, he only has to read you your rights if he questions you. Did he? If he did question you, I would get a lawyer, and it could probably get thrown out of court. Most lawyers have free first consultations. Make a couple appointments and see what they say. You will be amazed at how much you learn from different people!

I don't know about Idaho law, but Federally they don not have to read you your rights until they are ready to question you, if you say anything before they read you your Miranda rights it cannot be used against you. I would call the court house and ask them the information that you need to know.

as far as reading your rights it all depends on the state I got pulled over for drunk driving and I was never read my rights and my lawyer said that if they don't read you your rights than anything you say to the cop can't be used against you in court. As far as you going to court here is what I found check link it is all about underage drinking
