i just dont see why everyone hates us, sure we have our nose in other peoples buissness, but we have to. we're the big dogs, and if we decided to just isolate ourself from the rest of the world it would fall apart. and where's the loyalty? you know if someone decided to invade austalia or something the us would be there in like 2 days to back them up, we saved france twice, i just dont see why they hate us that bad.

A lot of Americans are seen as being arrogant and ignorant (just look at some of the Q&A on here). People appreciate the help that the US gives to other countries but there is a perception that it is sometimes based on profit and not wanting to do the right thing. Most Australians highly value our relasionship with the US, this is shown by the fact that we have worked side by side in many conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, Afganistan, Iraq).
Comments like your one stating that YOU saved France twice don't help you look less arrogant. The First World War went from 1914-18, you didn't enter until late 1917. WW2 went from 1939-45, you didn't enter until late 1941 and only after you were personally attacked (Pearl Harbour, Phillipines). Both times the British Empire fought alone for the first part of the war.
You didn't win WW1, you simply helped it end earlier.
You didn't win WW2, it was a combined effort of many nations against facism as well as Hitler's incompitence in Russia.
The world would certainly be a different place if the US did decide to return to it's policy of isolation but to say it would fall apart without your intervention is just reinforcing that sense of arrogance you portray to the world. The world did existed before the US.
As I said we do appreciate your help and what you do for so many countries but you need to learn that the rest of the world is not some barbaric place only being held together by the US.

What makes the America such a great country is that America is unique , Americans are different that Europeans if it wouldn't be for America were would the free world be today , all the talk that people hate the United States is fine with me , because that tells me were doing our job to make sure terrorists and countries that are run by evil leaders like Iran and Syria will be kept at bay . What happened on September 11 , 2001 is just a warm up of what those terrorists have in mind for the free world . So what do I say about Barrack Obama is that sorry , but he doesn't pass the security check since his father wasn't born in the United States , he can not be trusted with the number one spot , we have to be out of our minds to elect such a person to be the Chief Executive Officer , So that Only leaves Mrs. Clinton as the sole choice for the Democrats

United States Foreign Policy is what makes the US hated so much. The United States spends more money then any other nation in the world on military. The military is the will of the American people and can execute the foreign policy. So when the foreign policy of the United States infringes on another countries development or state affairs people hate that. If the United States deems someone of something a threat against national security they can justify their actions through the forgein policy. So the hate stems from, "who the hell do you think you are that you can just come over here and tell us how to live our lives". The US answer.......we the United States, what are you gonna do?!

This observation of yours...:
>i just dont see why everyone hates us, sure we have our nose
>in other peoples buissness, but we have to. we're the big dogs,
>and if we decided to just isolate ourself from the rest of the world
>it would fall apart.
... is innacurate. You say "we're the big dogs," but what do you mean, exactly? We have a large population? Large technology? More civilized? What? And what gives "the big dogs" the right to "have our noses in other peoples' business"?
Other countries dislike us because we HAVE poked our noses, and our ca$h into places where it is not welcome. We've funded rebels and regimes. Our culture has spread to places where people may not have wanted it. We send our missionaries to places which have their own religious beliefs, thanks very much. We are full of ourselves.. your very "we are the big dogs" attitude shows this.
The question is, given that attitude, why WOULDN'T other countries hate us?

Americans have been hated since before 9/11. Partly due to the media. Partly due to their disagreement with our friendship with Israel.
Oh well. Life goes on. Oh, and did some of you youngsters realize that America was hated even before George Bush was in the White House?

I liked when you said about sticking our nose in other business. we really shouldnt find the need to be doing all that to start with if it dont have nothing to do with us we need to stay out of it. we shouldnt worry about how other countries treat there people, that is none of are business. the US needs to worrying about there own country instead of others. Plus alot of countries think that we are better then them. American is nothing like it used to be. we lost all that. yes american will be the first to help other country but the bottom line is alot of countries dont want our help to start with but what do we do stick our nose in it. america has money and thats a sour taste in there mouth there is number of reasons why they dont. more in less the hate the country and the rulers and not the people since some of us aint nothing like the rulers. we are just like them. trying to get by, why they take and take some more. we have our own problems and these countries knows that and they dont even help there own people. so thats my answer. thats America for you!!!

Ironically, you answered your own question. I think it's that "big dog" mentality that makes America so insufferable. Your "nose" isn't actually required in everyone's business. I could go on, and on, and on, and... oh heck there is no end to how thoroughly I could explain why other countries hate the U.S. freakin' A. Don't take it personally.

We are often perceived as a bully and overly aggressive. "The Big Dog" We behave unilaterally when it suits our purpose and condemn others for the same, often seen as hypocritical. We believe in Democracy and Free Speech but have supported brutal dictators to achieve our own goals. Much of this is offset by the help we've given around the world, education, medicine and money. But how long would it take you to forgive the country you perceive as responsible for killing your relatives, your neighbors, or children?

The bigger question is, what does it say about the US as a society that people in the country don't CARE if the rest of the world hates us. That's the real question.

we're not the worlds cop service, although we like to think so, and we are not motivated by philanthropy, we tell others what they can and cannot do, although our rules don't apply to ourselves, its a do as we say, not as we do thing. basically, if you can't see why other countries are disgusted by our arrogance and imperialistic pursuits, its tough to explain because its just so bloody obvious how we view ourselves as worth so much more than the rest of the world. we're all humans. we all share the same planet. material wealth does not gauge gravity. make a concious effort to see from the rest of the world's perspective about the things we do, and i think you'll start to see how we aren't as mr. nice guy as we like to make ourselves out to be. we do great things, don't get me wrong, but we are not by any means the world's savior like we promote.
