Im 18 & sr in hs, i was thinking about trying for baseball, but i don't know if it's worth it. I've had very bad luck with sports (couldn't play soccer this year cause of an injury) & went out for baseball as a soph just to be the last one cut (literally the last since the jv coach couldnt decide & kept me an extra tryout just end up cutting me). Then he said the reason was cause the Vars coach didnt think i would make it, but now that same JV coach is on varsity, & he seemed to at least think i had some talent since he kept me & was the last cut.
However, I didnt play last year or tryout, & there's a lot of politics w/ sports as you're expected to play in private summer leagues (basically the seniors are already picked). That coach seemed to like me, particularly as a fielder (which means i would have to practice a lot on hitting).
Is it worth being cut again just to see what might happen, or just forget it & keep some dignity from these sports & politics??

well i guess i kind of had the same problem. i was cut from the volleyball team bc (i think) i had no 'parent to coach connection' & no older sibilings on the team. i just think tht i tryed really hard & some1 tht really didnt care if they made it or not, made the team bc her older sister was on the team. uggh! i just gave up bc i really didnt like try outs too much + i didnt want to go to practice saying "ugghhh practice..again"; i wanted to be happy to go to practice bc i would get to practice my skills.
anyways i think u should do it if u luv it. who knows if u do make the team, anything can happen.

Go ahead and tryout again you cannot succeed or fail if you do not try. Kind of like I would rather love and loose the person than to NEVER experience love at all. You will never succeed at anything if you are afraid of EVERYTHING Go for it.

try it! you'll never know if you will make it unless you try.if you get cut,then you have no regrets.cause you tried.!
