yes, you CAN use rubbing alcohol in pet's ears (it is a great drying agent and also cuts through wax quite well), but rabbit skin is quite delicate and thin. This may be the reason your source does not recommend it for bunny ears. There are many good cleansing products on the market for ears which are alcohol-free. Many have an oily base to them and work well (just wipe away excess after you use it). If your bunny has mites, there is a great product called Acarexx which should eliminate them with one dose, but you must get it at the vet's. If not, usually what is safe for cats is also safe for bunnies.

Because the scent is WAY too strong!!! It'll really do them in - it won't kill them, if they aren't exposed to it too long...but it definitely has some strong side effects for them. Rabbits, believe it or not, are very sensitive animals. Even certain topical ointments or remedies that humans use cannot be used for the same reasons on a rabbit because it can cause them to become very ill or may even kill them. If you have any questions on something for your bunny, you should definitely consult a veterinarian....that's the safest thing to do!

Alcohol will dry fragile skin surfaces, and cause burning. Use mineral oil to clean out his ears, with a Q-tip. that's what we and our vet uses on all the small animals ears.
Alcohol should NEVER be used inside an animals ear for cleaning. they only use it on the skin for a brief second to clean the surface before administering a shot.

a rabbit's ears r VERY sensitive!! it could burn their ears or get inside their ears and damage their hearing! DO NOT do this!!! to clean the ears dad warm (NOT HOT!!!) on a cotton ball and gentlly wet the ears. take a wash cloth and dab and make sure it is only damp. and let the lil lil lil bit of wetness dry on its own. it should take about a minute. DO NOT PUT IT ****IN***** THE EARS!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RABBIT!!!
