I too suffer from procrastination. I have come to the conclusion that the only way to overcome it is with dedication and discipline. The problem with that is that you must set aside times in order to complete work and a lot of people keep an agenda with tasks slotted in to specific times. This also keeps them extremely organized. The trouble is I keep putting off buying an agenda.

I too am a procrastinator. What I've learned to do is turn procrastination to my advantage. Did I promise to make a display on Japanese culture? I kill some time folding origami cranes and eating sushi.
If it's a serious problem, get a friend to keep you on track. However, a little procrastination isn't that bad.

Inorder to procrastinate there must be something that is causing some anxiety towards you not doing what you should be..find the cause of that..ex: you have to hand in a paper and you leave it for last minute because you are probably telling yourself..i am not going to do it right, the teacher wont like it, i will fail etc etc etc..Suddenly procrastination becomes "fear of fear itself" and until you stop being afraid of doing something you will continue to fine "creative" ways to NOT get started with what you have to do...

That's a rather complex issue with a solution that will be specific to your personal procrastination style. The reasons for your procrastinating might be uncovered, or you could simply behavior modify yourself out of it. There's plenty of information out there under the search term "procrastination."

Sometimes I have to make myself get out of bed.
We just have to realize that there are too few days we can let slip by,before paying the price!
Maybe you are discouraged in some way & thinking what is the use? There is always a good reason for doing what we must even if we don't see it.who wants to be viewed as a lazy, useless member of the human race? Not me! I just get up!

I know where you're coming from! That's been a live-style of mine. Not the best, but that seems to be the way I work. I've had a wonderful life inspite of it--or, sometimes, because of it! Trust your intuition--you may be headed into a direction that goes counter to you. Work with it and don't fight yourself about it! Do take a look at the direction or task that you're facing. It may be counter to who you are! TRUST YOURSELF!

Make a list of things you must accomplish (and make the list far ahead of time before you have to really have something finished). When you accomplish something reward yourself. Until you finish what you have to, don't allow yourself to watch TV, talk on phone, etc. Removing distractions helps.

Just think how you would feel if you could get whatever you had to do over with. Then whenever you finish it reward yourself and next time remember how good it felt for it to be over.
