Did Bush intend this?

"WASHINGTON — About $10 billion has been squandered by the U.S. government on Iraq reconstruction aid because of contractor overcharges and unsupported expenses, and federal investigators warned Thursday that significantly more taxpayer money is at risk."

"More than one in six dollars charged by U.S. contractors were questionable or unsupported, nearly triple the amount of waste the Government Accountability Office estimated last fall.

"There is no accountability," said David M. Walker, who heads the auditing arm of Congress. "Organizations charged with overseeing contracts are not held accountable. Contractors are not held accountable. The individuals responsible are not held accountable."

I work for one of these contractors. Let us not forget that a while back, under another adminstration, the military was cut back dramatically. Many, many jobs that the military used to do is now outsourced. From construction, supply and supply lines, communications, dining facilities, laundry, ect. Many people blame Halliburton, but that is actually not the case. They are just the most popular, because of all the election time mud slinging. I agree with you that money is being wasted, but many of these contractors are legit and can show you exactly where that money has been spent. There are literally hundreds of contractors, from all around the world. Also please realize that the US Government has hired local Iraqi contractors, who charge large sums of money, have shoddy workmanship, and are not held accountable.
I really believe that if Americans want to complain about wasted government money, then lets look at all of the able bodied people AND illegal immigrants who are riding welfare. Lets also talk about Senators and Congressmen that give themselves almost a yearly raise for "cost of living expense". Start there first, hold the government responsible for that Then do some accounting, which is actually the military's responsibility. Let some upper management in contractor companies who are not acting in good faith spend some prison time, and heavily fine the companies.
Let us here in Iraq support our soldiers the best way that we can, by being here, in danger with our soldiers and directly using our skills.

**** Cheney and his croanies at Haliburtan, Kellog, Brown, and Root (a subsidary of Haliburtan), Custer Battles Group (a security firm which was charged with fraud against the US government, but walked away without paying a dime, or receiving any conviction).

As someone once said in the 1920's, "war is good for business."

If that's real, then it is in basic terms yet another indication of ways Bush is in the back of the cases; I definitely do no longer have confidence this could be a situation if McCain become Pres; i think of along with his anti-beef attractiveness, he might comprehend the place the waste become and positioned an end to it ASAP!!! remember that he voted against Bush's power beef invoice which Obama voted FOR, for some unusual reason. in the event that they now have the money to get decrease back on their own feet, they could be spending their own money. undergo in strategies the oil for foodstuff scandal? (Clinton's watch?) in basic terms is going to tutor you that there has been corruption and misappropriation of money (OURS) happening in Iraq for it slow, now. that's the reason i desire to advise a three-month moratorium on ALL federal financial help, so we are able to audit the place all the waste if going, and allocate investment the place it would incredibly produce returns on money invested. you won't be in a position to tell me the IRS does no longer nail a minimum of a few A$$ES to the wall!!!

I thought it was at 3 trillion? Part of it is going to President Bush's male prostitutes. Him and Cheney like to hire the best male hookers and slime around inside the Pentagon. (they have very poor surveilance camera's) Other large chuncks of money go to their coke and opium habits. The rest goes to paying off individuals to keep their mouths shut about the demolition of the WTC.
