Lethargy is a state of laziness (physically, mentally, etc) so while one is being lethargic, they are contributing nothing. They are merely taking up space. They are useless. So the longer someone is in a state of lethargy, the more detached they become from the world. When they die noone will miss them, because they will have been forgotten, long ago.
Love thy enemy has also been said as "Turn the other cheek", "Be the bigger person" and "Two wrongs don't make a right", for a reason.
If everyone on an individual level, got revenge or "payback" for bad things done to them, this world would fall apart a lot faster than it already is.

They ARE justify. Lethargy like apathy is a disease or impoverishment in the Spirit evidenced in disgusted physical condition. Love is the only positive in infinite hatred.

by loving you refuse to become like your enemy, and sometimes they are affected by your love to become loving themselves. Often those observing are affected for the better too. If you are able to refrain from hating, you may save yourself from becoming depressed, biitter, and angry. The anger of hating can be self destructive.
