Is it true that music evolved from Jazz?? and if there was no jazz there wouldnt be any music like rap, rock, pop etc

if you trace the timeline of american music back to the very late 1800s...jazz was the first true american music to be recognized...so..in a sense that is true...

however...blues music..which sprung up in the mississippi delta era durin' the 1920s proved to have a much deeper and longer lastin' influence on the course of rock music...

country music is derived more from english/irish roots ans was also influential on the birth of rock n roll...

"playboy" did a 10-part series of facsinating articles on the history of rock in 1998-1999...

No. Music evolved from rhythm. the world is filled with rhythm. Music has always been around.

Anyway, people have been playing music for many years before jazz. Music is part of many tribal societies, often playing a big part in their religious ceremonies, just like today.
