How will a mare be affected by pregnancy. Will there be any emotion changes noticable in the early stage?

Every mare deals differently with pregnancy. Some you will notice no difference in mood and some will get extremely high or really low moments- sort of like a bipolar. I've had some mares that during their pregnancy become more territorial of objects that they consider theirs- it can stretch as far a their favorite bucket, brush, or halter to human or other animal attachments. I've had some mares get hostile towards me because I would either remove their blanket or remove a pasture mate.
It all varies with each mare.

Most of the mares I have been around - have not had any changes. They all seem fine and actually more quiet and settled. But when baby arrives then there is a change in some mares, they become very protective and you need to know your mare well, before you just go barreling in and handling the baby. Some mares don't like lots of people around and some don't care. I have a mare one birth had 20 people visit in 2 days. She could care less, but if any of the horses passed by and wanted to take a look she about rip them apart. Which is not like her, she is very social.

If she is a seasoned mare, you shouldn't see any changes mood wise. But, some veteran mares are much happier when bred. I've never seen a maiden mare change though either. All depends on the individual.
