my sister is 15 years old, and she's really sick. a friend brought her the following art supplies to use in her down time, but we can't think of any good ideas for what to make/use them for. any ideas will be appreciated! please try to keep it age appropriate and not too cheesy. she has colored tissue paper, glitter glues, colored pipe cleaners, colored feathers, gold and silver thin ribbon, and metallic confetti. thanks for your help!

she could make flowers. use the pipe cleaners as stems. the tissue paper as the flower part. she can use the glitter glue to make dew on the flower petals. she can sew the ribbon onto the felt, and glue the metallic confetti onto it and make cute christmas ornaments or something. there isnt anything to do really. just be creative. if at all possible she could start on a quilt or something. with a sewing machine or hand stitching. you can buy quilting books. sometimes i find that fun. im 15 too. it would be pretty cool for her to say to her kids..."i made this when i was really sick." go to the fabric store and pick up a few different fabrics, needle, thread etc. go on the net and find some patterns. give em to her and just help her. if you need tips for sewing email me. m_2smart4u@yahoo.com

You can make a ton with that stuff.

you could make a mask by bending the pipe cleaners into an outline, then using the glitter glue to attach the tissue paper, then tie a piece of ribbon to the pipe cleaners on each side so you can tie it to your head. You can add feathers or confetti with the glitter glue if you want to.

If you have some pens, you could wind a pipe cleaner around a pen, then glitter glue a pom-pom made of ribbon to the end and decorate the rest with little spots of glitter glue.
To make a Pom-Pom you take a piece of cardboard about twice as long as you want the pompom to be and you fold it in half. Then you wrap alot of ribbon around it. then you thread a piece of ribbon inside the cardboard and tie it around the other ribbon. You then proceed to cut the ribbon on the opposite end of the cardboard. You should now have a pompom.

The possibilities are endless. I once braided pipecleaners into my hair, but that was for crazy hair day at my school. :)

Have fun!

She could cover empty shoe boxes with the tissue paper and thread ribbon through the top of the bottom section going around it. Line it with the felt and she has a box to store photos or notes from friends.
