Using fear to coerce people to give to the Red Cross... almost sounds like terrorism.

I don't know, I think the Red Cross is right in wanting to prepare for such an attack. The global conflict is not going to get smaller anytime soon. We may have a major emergency on US soil, and we are likely to have larger numbers of troops abroad in the years to come. At least they see it coming, which is more than can be said for some people of our statesmen/women!
When they collected money for the victims of 9/11, they were criticized for keeping the excess for a fund to deal with similar attacks in the future. This is understandable; people intended to help the terror victims, not have their donations put into a fund. On the other hand, I think the Red Cross is right to plan for this.

It is just an advertisement and nothing more.We should prepare for anything at this point. There are more pressing things to get anxious over.Like we are in the end times and every minute of every day we face the possibility of the Apocalypse.Or our troops are getting slaughtered over seas, they risk chemical warfare everyday.Don't you think they are scared?

The only validity to this ad is that we all ought to be able to have some supplies stored in case of emergency. Most emergencies are weather related, but if people get scared enough by the threat of terrorism to learn how to take care of themselves, that's still good.
