Stephen Hawking is an intelligent man. He has focused that intelligence into his chosen field of astrophysics. Anybody with drive can rise to the top of their chosen field. It does not matter whether that field is sales, shelf stacking, or astrophysics.
To excel you have to focus solely on your chosen field, thus a shelf stacker may know more about how to efficiently stack a shelf than an astrophysicist would. Neither of the two would know much about medicine however, and so it is, that the world's foremost expert on the nature of black holes does not know how to cure his crippling disease.
I would like to point out however, that the type of basic scientific research that Mr Hawking undertakes has been pivotal in the generation of technologies that we take for granted today. This technology includes the powered wheelchair that allows Stephen Hawking to "walk" and the voice synthesizer which allows him to "talk".
I know that your question was just a silly joke, but it does raise the valid question of what intelligence really means. It does not take intelligence to walk, and we assume that it takes intelligence to talk. But consider this. Humans have taught Chimpanzees to "talk" in sign language. How many humans have managed to learn to speak Chimp?

2 distinct adult males, in distinct fields. Einstein replaced into extra concentrated in a unmarried certain section, at the same time as Hawking hit many distinct parts. in reaction to easily organic intelligence, Hawking is more desirable, yet undergo in options technological awareness is depending on the previous generations learnings. i imagine once you evaluate "for that given age" Einstein stll would not tournament up. yet it truly is a question to be responded 50 years from now.

He has Lou Gehrig's disease, als = amyotropic lateral sclerosis; this causes the spinal cord to deteriorate slowly so that the victim loses control of his extremities, the bowel and bladder, then speech, and finally the ability to breathe.
The brain remains intact; and that is why the disease is so terrible: the victim remains conscious of his surroundings, feels pain, can have his feelings hurt, but has absolutely no control.
His IQ cannot overcome this horrible disease.
