Only if you are watching videos or playing games. It lasts about 2-3 hours with videos/games going I believe but otherwise it lasts a long time.

The battery life on a Video iPod is pretty good. Thing is that watching a video will most likely kill it (metaphorically speaking). But if you will casually watch videos and pictures on it then thats fine. It plays 20 hours of auido and 6 hours of videos.
