the courts in florida was discussing what was going on and right behind him a sign was floating around saying ASK JESUS TO SAVE YOU NOW!... don't these people have anything better to do ...? if they're serious about spreading the word why don't they go door-to-door and evangelize like the jw's rather then making stupid signs and trying to get them on tv?..

I did not see the incident to which you refer but I know that I tend to be of 2 minds on this. On the one hand, if they are Genuinely interested in preaching about Jesus then, my heart goes out to them as they are coming across as rude/tacky, but I appretiate their effort. If however they are just doing it for attention I think it is incredibly unkind. It detracts from whatever is supposed to be being covered. It also gives us Christians who are actually interested in sharing information about Jehovah look bad.

As a JW, I've always found it humorous when people wave these signs on tv or at sporting events. I especially think it's funny when someone flicks me off in traffic and then has a religious bumper sticker on their car (or the fish symbol). You're right, this kind of "preaching" will never reach anyone's heart or mind. You have to engage people in conversation to make a lasting difference in their lives. Jesus (who we imitate with our door-to-door work) was famous for the manner of his teaching, which didn't include waving signs. He spoke with people, both in large crowds and one-on-one.

I'm sick of all the media attention that story is getting. A real sick soap opera.
