You've got the 11th slot? I'd go hitting for both- you might be able to get a great one/two combo as other owners go for position scarcity. I can see you getting Hafner and Teixiera, which would give you a great base for hrs/rbi/runs/avg.

Hitting is SO much more important in fantasy baseball. In that spot, try to get a power hitter. Remember, a HR is also a R and an RBI. Also, pitching is a lot deeper. If you can get stud hitters with your first 3-5 picks, then get guys like Sabathia, Sheets, Cain, Jered Weaver, etc. you are set.

Good luck

In fantasy you always need offense. Pitching varies from year to year, even with the good pitchers. If a guy is a good hitter and produces, he usually will continue to do so. Now, I'm not talking about average players who suddenly have one of those career years, be careful of those guys. Pitching is important but not as important as you think. Pick up a good pitcher in the middle rounds.

the best thing to do at that position is to take players who play a position where there is little fantasy depth. The biggest ones would be 2nd base and SS. If Chase Utley is still available i'd take him because he's the only really good 2nd basemen. If he's not I'd go SS with a guy like Jeter or Rollins if Reyes isn't still available. There's plenty of 1B, 3B and OF depth for the later rounds and no SP or RP worth taking there.

Plus, taking talent at a position with a short list of top players is great trade bait.

Take Chase Utley or David Wright at #11. Good pitching can be drafted in the later rounds.

A lot of people will say a big bat but with such a late pick id take a pitcher and a batter. I mean like on the way down a pitcher, then a batter on the way back.

Depends on the scoring of the league. Like others have said, take Santana if he's around otherwise stick with the hitting!

Hitting... unless you can get Santana (don't go for until pick 3 at least), don't go for pitching until at least round 5

If you can't get Santana with your first pick, then don't bother with pitching until round 4

It depends, you probably won't have good value for a pitcher for your first two picks so I would say hitting early on. It all depends on value later on in the draft though.
