ok i got the door lock in mode 4 but the doors don't unlock when i put it in park. they only do if i turn the key off???default is mode 3. plz help?

The four modes enable the indicated combinations of features:
• Mode 1: Automatic door locking and unlocking are disabled
• Mode 2: Shift out of park lock
• Mode 3:
- Shift out of park lock
- Ignition off unlock
• Mode 4:
- Shift out of park lock
- Shift into park unlock
My guess is you aren't setting the mode properly. Review the procedure and try again...

The things you are talking about are standard in a Pontiac from 2000 to present. It's a safety feature. Also if you aren't careful it'll randomly lock you out of your car if the doors are closed and the car is running. Good Luck!
