I assume that Hip Hop will continue for a very long time. While the rap industry might become an underground phenom, as a mainstream genre I expect that it will evolve into what to many, will appear as death, but really, it will have just taken a new shape, more relative to it's electro-funk brothers, and will likely be more creative and less annoyingly repetitive as it has become. (sex, drugs, violence, and fashion are getting kind of old). Hip Hop is after all, a lifestyle too. I bet it will eventually die off, but 10 years is a really short time to expect that to happen. Maybe 20. but we'll see. His forecast might be right after all.

For us old skoolaz. Hip-hop died because of commercialism. BUT Commercialism took to it another level.

Hip-hop will never die. As long as new artists come up from the underground with a new sound..even though sounds are running out.
