Ok , open control panel , then select windows firewall , then look for the yahoo messenger client and select ALLOW , now if this dosent work it means that in the router the port to wish yahoo is going to connect is close

Windows Firewall whether on or off, never restrict yahoo messenger for being accessed ... but any way if u want to close firewall though its not good thing then go control panel >security centre > (at bottom) windows firewall ..done bye

no need to turn off your firewall, you have to go to control panel then to firewall then go to the tab that says exceptions and click on add program. then on the next window that pops up look for yahoo messenger and double click on it, if you can't find it click on browse and look for yahoo messenger and double click then ok on you windows firewall. it is weird that firewall is blocking your yahoo. hope this helps you
