im 12 and when the show was on television i was to young to watch it but now im watching it on dvds and itssss so good anyway im up to season 7 and i want to know if the show angel is as good as buffy ?

"Angel" is a darker, more adult show. "Buffy" was about growing up, learning who you are, how to make choices & take responsibility; it ends on a positive, optimistic note, with Buffy and her friends facing a virtually unlimited world of possibilities. "Angel", on the other hand, is about being an adult with a history of choices behind you, all of which influence the person you are today and limit the choices ahead of you. Angel (& nearly everyone else on that show, most notably Spike, Wesley, and Faith) has to come to terms with the past and still find the courage to face the future and to strive for better things. It's dark because it shows the characters dealing with heartbreak, failure, shame, and despair; it's inspirational because they DO deal with their unhappy pasts, and keep believing that they can do and have and be something more. In other words, so what if you were a soulless vampire or a high school dropout serving a prison sentence for murder? Even YOU can become a champion, if you try. Keep fighting. Don't give up. It's an amazing world, and you can be a part of it.
(And, yes, Season 7 of "Buffy" IS happier than Season 6. The gang finally figure out how to work together as a team, as a family. If you're a Spike fan--like me!--you may find him uncharacteristically subdued this season, which is disappointing, but he joins the "Angel" cast for Season 5, and is a breath of fresh air for that show--ironic, I guess, since vampires don't breathe...)

I love both shows, but I think Buffy is a bit better, on the whole, particularly for younger audiences. Older audiences would appreciate Angel more. I'm rather in the middle, leaning a bit more toward the young side, but I get most of the elder-oriented stuff on Angel, too. As for which season is happier, I think season seven is happier, but "Once More, With Feeling" stands out the most and it was in season six, if I'm not mistaken. I'm buying them on DVD, too.

I found Angel better then Buffy. Angel gets a lot darker and the characters go through more and change more, especially Cordy and Wes, who are my favorite characters.
