I think when you're talking about the best rock band ever, right now it is U2 vs. the Rolling Stones.
I give the slight edge to U2 because they're younger and have more years ahead of them to make new songs and do exciting concerts.

any band with Jack White in it is awesome so its a tie between The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. The White Stripes best songs are Seven Nation Army and Fell In Love With A Girl. the Raconteurs best songs are Steady As She Goes and Broken Boy Soldier.
