You need to download the Audo driver... Visit your computer company website and search for drivers.... However, if you have a dell, go to dell.com and click on support and download drivers then look up your pc model and you will get all the drivers from there for your computer... Have a great day.

Hi there.
You can try these options.
1) Check if u muted your sound by accident
2) Check if your drivers are working (control panel, sounds and audio devices, hardware tab) do you see greyed out options? If so you need to install or reinstall them off your sound card's CD/website
3) Check if your speaker cable/plugs are plugged into your sound card all the way in if you have external speakers
5) Is your volume at the correct level?
I hope one of these would make your sound come back

Sounds like you may have lost the driver to your sound card when you re-formatted.
You can try to look it up in the Device Manager in Windows. Go to your Start button and click Control Panel, then click on Performance & Maintenance, then click System. A Systems Properties window will open, click on the hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button. You should see a sound controller that you can open up and it may list your sound card in there. Double-click on your sound card and click the Driver tab on the window that opens up and from there you can install or update your sound driver.
If the sound card is not showing in the Device Manager, go to that company's website for your sound card and download the driver for your card and install it.

You reinstall the sound driver along with another half dozen drivers such as mobo drivers, video drivers, and assorted others! Dont let people convince you into doing a format unless its an absolute last resort! Most people talk a big story but dont know jack and have probably never attempted it!

Check to make sure you reloaded the drivers for your sound card, even if it is built onto the motherboard it stills needs drivers to make it work.
The disk that came with your computer should have the drivers for it. If it is a seperate sound card that fits in a PCI slot on the motherboard then it should have a disk with the drivers on it.
If you don't have the disk you can search online & get drivers for most sound cards.

Hi. You may have to uninstall the soundcard and reboot. The OS will find and install the drivers. Check the Volume settings to make sure the right sound device is being used.

Are your speakers peripherals? You may need to reload your audio driver. Check your Control Panel + Sounds/Speakers and see if there is a driver listed.

the 1st element i might do is examine administration panel > sound and audio gadgets to confirm no longer something is muted. in case you plug the headphones back in and you get sound, then this is possibly no longer the sound card. i understand you probably checked all of this, yet i will point out it besides... some computers have on-board sound on the MB besides to a valid card. for this reason you will possibly have 2 obtainable "eco-friendly" output ports to plug in the cable. verify you're making use of the wonderful one if it relatively is the case. additionally, some modems have ports for sound additionally. verify you're no longer mistakenly making use of a sort of. I had an occasion the place I fastened someones pc at my abode and each thing worked completely. whilst the guy introduced it abode he suggested he had no sound. I went via each and every thing back purely to confirm that the audio gadget he replaced into making use of had a activate them to confirm on an "enter gadget." Do your audio gadget have this way of swap? finally, if all else fails i might basically reinstall the sound card drivers. if in case you have them on a disc that got here with the pc. If no longer you may get them from Gateway or Realtek.
