and why do we have no accents when we sing?

Before you are 10 months old, your brain tell the differences between sounds of a language, so if you grow up learning Tagalog or Polish, then your brain will incorporate the sounds it hears every day and put them into the words, by using your tongue to make those sounds, so when you speak in another language, such as English, the sounds your brain is most familiar with are added.

Depends different languages have different accents. If you go back to the biblical story of Herod. He had his slaves build a huge tower to reach the skies, then shot an arrow into the heavens. As punishment God commanded that everyone speak in different tongues, and Herod would lose his command over them. As far as singing, I never gave that any thought. I have to see what everyone else thinks.
